WHAT WE BELIEVE
-
The Bible
We believe the entire Bible is the infallible inspired Word of God and that men were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the Scripture. (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
-
God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, (Mark 12:29; I John 5:7-8)) We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity, the Son of God, who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world. Jesus Christ was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life (John1:1,14, 20:28-30; I Timothy 3:16, I Timothy 2:5; Isaiah 9:6). We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity, God the Spirit, who is at work in the world helping unbelievers become aware of their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit also lives within every believer, providing them with the power to live for God and commit their lives to His service (John 15:26, John 6:63, John 14:16-18).
-
Mankind
We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort (Genesis 1:37;
Romans 3:23; Isaiah 53:6; Titus 3:4-7).
-
Salvation
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation is a gift and only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:-109; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22).
-
Christian Life
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself or herself. By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer should mature and become conformed to the image of Christ (I John 2:5-6,I John 2:17; Colossians 2:6-7).
-
Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by making him known to the lost world (Matthew 1617-19; Hebrews 10:25; Matthew 28:19-20.
-
Marriage
We believe that marriage is a defined as one man and one woman who are joined together inseparably in a marriage partnership according to the bible in Genesis 2:23, 24. Marriage is also affirmed by Jesus Christ as a God-ordained, covenant relationship between a man and a woman in Matthew 19:4-5.
